Chris Cook
Owner
Chris has been in the roofing industry since 1995. After working for one of Michigan’s largest roofing companies as project and operations manager, Chris developed the skills and knowledge to build his own company. He has worked on large commercial projects including hospitals, schools, public and commercial buildings, as well as residential.
You can be assured that he will bring industry insight and the right commitment for your project(s). Chris has been exposed to, and worked with, just about every roofing system out there and been involved in every aspect of the business. He has built his reputation in the roofing industry by being upfront with customers and delivering quality service and workmanship. He will continue to provide customers the same quality of service and dedication he has delivered for over 15 years.

Doug Chitwood
Superintendent
As a Superintendent with 22 years of industry experience, Doug Chitwood is a keystone member of the Tri-Star family. Since starting his career in 2004, he has mastered every aspect of the roofing trade, transitioning from a decade in the field to a specialized repair role where he became an expert in solving complex problems. Doug’s professional approach lies within his patience and clear communication, ensuring seamless coordination between crews, general contractors, and other trades. He is particularly proud of his hands-on work on the Haggerty Retail project, where he managed multiple roof sections and developed strong professional partnerships. When he isn't on a roof, you can find Doug enjoying the quiet nature of the Michigan countryside. Outside of work, he spends his time with his wife and friends, enjoying outdoor activities like shooting, riding side-by-sides, and playing competitive cornhole.
Justen Herbert
Lead Estimator
With roofing in his blood and over a decade of hands-on experience, Justen serves as the Lead Estimator for Tri-Star Roofing. He began his career at 15 and was running crews by 17, mastering a wide range of systems including TPO, EPDM, and Duro-Last. After successfully owning and operating a residential remodeling company in Florida for seven years, Justen returned to Michigan to pivot his expertise toward sales and customer relations For Tri-Star Roofing. His thorough technical background allows him to provide owners with highly accurate estimates and expert guidance on complex commercial projects. Justen joined Tri-Star to advance his technical expertise and thrive in a company culture that treats every team member like family. Today, he is proud to use his entrepreneurial spirit to help Tri-Star clients find the most efficient and high-quality solutions for their facilities.


Paul Dubreuil
Sheet Metal Supervisor
After being in the industry for now over three decades, Paul has brought his knowledge and expertise he has gained to help Tri-Star Roofing & Sheet Metal build one of the most respected sheet metal divisions. He has been with Tri-Star since 2014, and has worked his way to become one of the key players within the company.
Charlie Raymond
Project Manager
As a Project Manager at Tri-Star Roofing and Sheet Metal, Charlie is a force multiplier behind the company’s operational excellence and high-level project execution. With a career rooted in R&D and Federal Contract Management, he specializes in solving problems, navigating complex contracts, and ensuring every project is executed with absolute transparency and technical precision. Charlie prioritizes clear communication and proactive management, believing that a successful project is built on a foundation of trust rather than red tape. As a proud father of twin boys, his commitment to this philosophy is reflected in his role as a youth soccer coach for his twin sons’ team. Charlie brings a "do it right the first time" mentality to every job site.


Shannon Diehl
Accounting Controller
Shannon brings over two decades of experience from the medical field to Tri-Star Roofing, where she applies her extensive knowledge in administration and client relations. Her early exposure to the trades, through accompanying her father to project sites, ignited a lifelong passion for the industry.
Shannon excels in managing the administrative operations at Tri-Star, including overseeing bonding, contracts, and maintaining critical customer relationships for the president and estimating team. Her adeptness with various computer software programs enhances her efficiency and effectiveness in coordinating project leads that align with our company's specialized expertise. Shannon's strategic approach and dedication to building strong partnerships make her a cornerstone of our team, ensuring that Tri-Star Roofing operates at the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
Joe Wentzel
Service Manager
With 16 years of industry experience and a military background, this seasoned professional brings elite time management and precision to every Tri-Star job site. Having risen from Journeyman to Foreman, he is particularly proud of leading the complex "Main of Royal Oak" project, where he managed a five-story TPO installation with technical balcony detailing. He treats every project with a professional approach, thriving in a unique company culture where field and office staff are treated like family. As a resident of the Port Huron area, he balances a country lifestyle with a deep commitment to his wife, two daughters, and two German Shepherds. Outside of roofing, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and target shooting, carrying on a proud family legacy of military service. His focus remains on keeping crews efficient and ensuring that every client receives a high-standard, durable roofing solution.
